Here's a full review and detailed description of what happens in the third Pretty Little Liars book, Perfect.

The story begins with the five girls (Ali DiLaurentis, Spencer Hastings, Aria Montegomery, Hanna Marin and Emily Fields) making a film right before Ali died (three years ago). Spencer is the talk show host and is interviewing Ali. Ali is mysteriously texting somone and laughing so when she has to go to the bathroom, everyone tries to read he texts. When Ali comes back, she sees the four girls hovering over her locked phone and gets mad. Then Spencer's sister, Melissa, and her boyfriend Ian walk in and Ian gets interviewed by Spencer too. Spencer and Ali get flirty with Ian and the tape ends.
In present day, Spencer is at Melissa's therapist trying to get over the deaths of Toby Cavaungh (brother of Jenna Marshall whom the five girls blinded, Emily's ex-boyfriend, and Ali's enemy) and Ali. When Spencer gets home, her mom tells her that one of her essays from school is being nominated for a Golden Orchid (the national essay contest). This particular essay however was stolen from Melissa and only Spencer knows. At school, Mr. Ezra Fitz (the English teacher and Aria's ex-boyfriend) gets flirty with Aria even though he ended the relationship. Hanna and her BFF Mona Vanderwaal are making fun of lower class girls like all the It Girls do. They start talking about their Friendaversary and Mona's birthday party. Emily meets her "girlfriend" Maya St. Tramin at the local park and they end up kissing again. Aria and her current boyfriend Sean (who's Hanna's ex) drive around town, making Ezra jealous, and drop Aria off at her dad's (he and his wife got divorced when it was discovered that Aria's dad was having affairs with another girl) where she paints a red HS (husband-stealer) on the girl (Meredith)'s dress. At field hockey practice, Spencer notices Melissa and her coach Ian are back together. Hanna arrives home to find a police car in her driveway. In the backyard, an officer is questioning Hanna, Spencer, Aria and Emily all who have broken up. He mentions that someone leaked a video of the five girls to the police and he wants to know who. Mona calls Hanna and wants to know where she is because it's their Friendaversary. Hanna accidentatly mentions that she's with her old friends and Mona cancels the Friendaversary. Emily wants to tell the officer about how Ali blinded Jenna and the others refuse and leave. As soon as they all disappear, they get a text from A (an anoyomous source who's ruining their lives) saying, "Thought I was gone? Please, I've been watching you the whole time. And if you tell anyone about me, I'll ruin your lives. -A" Emily decides to tell the officer anyway. When Aria gets home, she finds that the leaked video was indeed the one from the prologue. When Aria's mom gets home, she's furious with Aria because she found out that Aria knew about her dad's affairs and didn't tell her and she kicks Aria out. At Emily's swim meet, all of her friends are ignoring her and the boys are paying more attention to her. Mona invites Em to her birthday party and Emily's sister is ignoring her. Em finds that A posted a picture of Emily and Maya kissing all around the swim meet. A note in her swim bag says, "Hey Em! Now we're even. You outed me and I outed you. Kisses! -A" Aria decides to stay at Sean's house until her mom allows her back in. She hears a twig snap outside of her room and glances out the window. There's no one there but the TV does say, "New Rosewood Stalker Sighting!" A sends Aria an email saying, "Here's a hint to Ali's murderer: Someone wanted something of Ali's, the killer's closer than you think. -A" Meanwhile Mona and Hanna have a fight because of the Friendaversary thing but they make up after Hanna gets a text from A saying, "Here's a tip: One of your old friends is hiding something big from you and Mona's not your friend either, so watch your back. -A" Emily comes home from the swim meet to find her parents waiting for her with a gay therapist. Her parents threaten to send Emily to Iowa if she doesn't do the therapy. Spencer is getting ready for her newspaper article on the stolen paper when A sends a text saying, "Hint: Ali's murderer is right in front of you. -A" Spencer looks around but there's no one there except herself. At Mona's party, Hanna sends a airplane to say the words, "Get ready to party with Mona!" in the sky but they say, "Get ready to fart with Mona! -A" Mona kicks Hanna out. Emily tells Maya that they have to stop hanging out and they break up. At the therapist's office, Emily convinces the therapist to have a double friend date, with Emily, Maya, the therapist and her ex-girlfriend. Spencer has a flashback of her and Ali on the day she died. Ali was taunting her because she claims Spencer wants something of hers but she already read it in her diary. Spencer gets mad and shoves Ali, everything goes black and there's a loud crack. Meanwhile, Aria goes to visit Mr. Fitz and they talk about Aria's parents. They kiss and make up. Spencer asks her mom if she ever blocked out any memories from her past and her mom tells her about a time when a guy with a gun threatened to kill Spencer and Mrs. Hastings if she didn't give him her wallet. The next morining, Mrs. Hastings woke Spencer up and asked her about the guy and Spencer had no clue who she was talking about. Meanwhile, Hanna and a nice nerdy boy from school named Lucas go on a date. Ian comes to visit Spencer but Spencer blows him off and runs inside. Hanna runs into Mona and her boyfriend Eric. Hanna and Mona talk and almost make up but Mona walks away before anything can happen. When Hanna gets home, she sees that Mona sent her a dress to wear to her party as forgiveness. Spencer and Melissa are talking about her boyfriends and Melissa believes Ian was cheating on her with someone. Aria goes over to Mr. Fitz's apartment and tells him she has a boyfriend but ends up spending the evening with him anyway. Spencer and her family are playing Scrabble when someone sends Melissa a copy of HER essay, the one Spencer stole. She reads it out loud and the family figures it out. Spencer and Melissa get into this huge fight and Spencer pushes Melissa down the stairs and cracks her head. A vision popped into Spencer's head of her doing the same thing to Ali, the night she died. When Hanna arrives at Mona's party, she sees that Mona is wearing the same dress as Hanna and she realizes that A sent the dress not Mona. Hanna trips and rips the dress open and she runs away with Lucas picking her up. Maya blows off the double-friend-date with the therapist but Emily still shows up. The therapist and her ex-girlfriend go ice skating with Emily but at the end of the evening, Emily catches the therapist and the ex-girlfriend kissing. Meanwhile, the police show up at Mr. Fitz's apartment and arrest Mr. Fitz, leaving Aria to go to a nearby diner. Emily and Maya are meeting and apologizing to each other when Emily's mom shows up. She says she got a call that they were meeting and tells Emily that she's not her daughter and is indeed sending her to Iowa. Hanna and Lucas kiss when Hanna sees a dark shape peering through the window. She thinks it's A when her phone buzzes that she has a new text. It reads, "Oops, guess you can't believe everything hear! -A" but it's not from an unknown number. Hanna recongizes the number and figures out who A is. Meanwhile, Aria is at a nearby diner watching old videos on her laptop. She clicks on the one that was sent to the police. She watched it once and then played it in slo-mo. Aria notices that when Ian plopped down on the couch in between Spencer and Ali, Ali and Ian's hands were touching...like they were a couple. A's message played in Aria's head, "The killer wanted something of Ali's. The killer is closer than you think." Aria notices Spencer staring at Ian longingly. Does that mean... Spencer [/i]killed Ali? Aria calls Emily and Hanna and agrees to meet them at the park. Hanna reveals she knows who A is and Aria says she knows who killed Ali. Meanwhile, Spencer is having a flashback of the day when Ali died. Spencer chases Ali out of the barn and Ali mocks Spencer, saying that she thinks she can have everything but she can't have this. Spencer doesn't know what Ali is talking about until Ali says, "Ian stupid. He told me this when we were on our date. The only reason he kissed you was because I told him to. I wanted to see if he would do anything for me." Spencer pushes Ali....straight into a metal fence. There was a loud crack and then the air smelled like blood. The real Spencer wakes up in real time. She remembers A's message, "The killer is right in front of you." She remembers spinning around but there was no one there except herself. Did she kill Ali? Hanna calls and tells Spencer that she knows who A is. At the park, Hanna wanders around, waiting for Aria, Spencer and Emily. Emily and Aria show up right as an SUV car heads straight for Hanna. She doesn't have time to move and the car hits her. Emily and Aria dart towards her, Emily calls 911. Meanwhile, Spencer is hiding in the trees, watching the whole event. All three girls get a text, reading, "She knew too much. -A"
