Rain is a thoughtful young penguin with a lot on her mind. Her emotions flood all the time and change regularly. Rain likes being in charge and loves to swim like an Ocean Band penguin should. Her visions help her to change her mood but she strongly dislikes being lonely. Her thoughts are hopeful until they're crushed. She would respond to a challenge by looking it in the eye and fighting it.

History:

- Chick -
Rain was born a chick when Ocean was leader. She wanted to train to become a gladiator really bad and that was her goal in life. She barely even knew the other Bands before Ocean announced they were moving. All Rain knew was that an evil force was coming to take them over so the Bands scattered. Ocean's Band traveled to sunny South America near present-day Brazil. Once they were settled in, Rain started to notice that Ocean was very fond of her. She attended every Band meeting, even though she wasn't supposed to. She followed Ocean around like a lost dolphin and copied his every move. She admired him and wanted to be just like him when she grew up. Rain was lonely in the chicks' den which consisted of twigs and leaves. She itched and squirmed but still no one came near her. Rain vowed to earn their approval one day and Ocean agreed. One day, her father took all the chicks out exploring and hunting. Rain caught a salmon while the other chicks caught merely a goldfish. Her father, Ocean Band's deputy, was proud but the others were jealous. So they hatched a plan. They were going to get rid of the deputy once and for all so Rain would know misery. Since they were only chicks, nothing happened right away but inside their minds, a plan was brewing.

- Young Wing -
The day Rain became a young wing was, so far, the happiest day of her life. Rain wanted to start new and fresh and become friends with her old enemies. Her mother was proud of her, being a healer made her soft. But the others still glared at her in passing and tripped her when she was proudly carrying bunches of krill. Her mentor, Ocean himself, was like Rain's second-father since her current one was too busy organizing the Band. Rain didn't care, she already spent some time with him. What else could a young wing want? Well, friends could be one answer. Rain approached the staring young wings one day and asked if they could be friends. They burst out laughing and waddled away. Rain was alone once again. Soon, hate bubbled up inside of her until it threatened to burst through and engulf her. Rain was furious. She eavesdropped on them regularly and found out the terrible things they'd done and were going to do. Like murder her father... Her real father... Rain couldn't let that happen! The young wing bolted inside their headquarters (the young wings' den) and narrowed her eyes. Then she threatened that if they don't back off, she will rip them to shreds. This was the start of Rain's mood-swings.

- Gladiator -
It worked, the threat really worked. The young wings, now gladiators and healers, forgot their plans and left Rain alone, which was the opposite of what she wanted but still... Her first vision was of herself tearing at a leopard seal. Rain blinked her eyes open and she knew Polar Band had sent her a sign. Two days later, Rain found herself cornered by a leopard seal. She tore herself at it but it wouldn't back off. The gladiator heard a yowl and all the penguins who disliked her came running at this seal. Rain was appalled, had her plan finally worked? After all these days of training and hoping? Could it be? Rain prayed for a miracle and sure enough, one came. The leopard seal was driven off. The gladiators and healers who hurt her apologized and told her the troubling news. Rain's father had died of a sudden coughing fit. Rain was shocked. How could this be? Here they were mourning for the penguin they were about to kill? What was this? Rain mourned but glanced at Ocean every so often who seemed to be studying her. Right before moonrise, Rain was appointed deputy.

- Deputy -
Rain was happy to become the new deputy of Ocean Band. It's what she wanted after all, but something wasn't right. Rain's mother wasn't recovering from the shock of losing her mate. In fact, days later, she still hadn't recovered. It got so bad, that Rain had to be by her side all the time...that is until she died too. Rain was left alone with a whole bunch of heartbreak. Who was there to comfort her? None other than Ocean. Rain was the one who got the vision of the global warming. It was destroying all the Bands, it was everywhere. Rain warned Ocean and when they reached Polar Island once again, Blizzard, the Blizzard Band leader, warned them of the other Bands living on the island. Rain unearthed her fighting skills and prepared for battle. She had another vision right before the Great Battle of it indeed. It involved all of the Bands fighting each other and penguins weeping with dread. The vision was over before it even begun. Rain fought like a monster during the Great Battle and even managed to wound Ice, the Ice Band leader. As the deputy turned around for her next fighting partner, there was no one left. Everyone was dead except for three other penguins...who happened to be the three deputies: Fleur, Frost and Popsicle. Rain knew that their destiny was to live in peace and recreate the Bands. When she saw Ocean lying dead on the ground, she cried with misery until there was nothing left in the world. She trudged off to her section of Polar Island and the recreation begun.

- Leader -
Rain became leader after Ocean died in the Great Battle. She had no family left, she was utterly alone. She hoped and wished some new penguins, Magellenic of course, would join Ocean Band but nothing was certain. Her first member was Puddle who Rain heard crying back home in South America. His home had been destroyed and Rain rescued him. Together, they created the new Ocean Band.
