Name:
Fleur
Band: Ice Band
Position: Leader
History:
- Chick -
Fleur was a very peaceful chick when she was young. Many of the others picked on her, which led to the young penguin's friendless chickhood. The other chicks excluded little Fleur in everything they did, from games of "Find the Fish", to even use of their nests! One cold day, Fleur was being teased by a group of chicks who were all older than her. They hated her, and her softspoken ways, and pished her off of the Slippery Slope, hoping that she would either die from the fall, or be murdered by hostile gladiators. Fleur waited for seven days, without food or warmth. Luckily for her, on the eighth day, a gladiator came by from Blizzard Band and rescued her. She was taken in by a nursing mother, with a lively and exciting chick named Frost. Fleur was shy when taken around the igloos, always staying behind Frost. For the most part, some in Blizzard Band said she actually was Frost's shadow! They mostly kept away from the Gladiators, because as Frost used to say, "The high and mighty Gladiators are too busy with their beaks stuck in the air to notice us!". Sometimes they would visit the Young Wings, and they would teach the two of them battle moves. Fleur loved learning battle moves, and she tried her best at them, but she never was very good at them. "Look at the little lost chick, flapping her wings!" they used to say. Fleur hated them for that. She had enough done to her in her short life, that she was very close to becoming, as they say in the Ice Band, a, "Shark-fin." A Shark-fin is a penguin who begins to act un-penguin like, living off of rock, and outside a band, with no limitations. She would have been lost to that bleak fate, were it not for Frost. Frost could see the problems Fleur had, and had the sense to stay away from the Young Wings. Instead, they now visited the Blizzard Band Healers. Fleur steadily grew more and more confident, and when the time came for her to be a young wing, she knew what she was destined to be.
