It was warm. It was cozy. Glacier didn't want to get out. Though she was getting way to big for her tiny compartment, and she was hungry. oh, fine she groaned in her head I'll find a way out. Se used her beak to poke at her surroundings. what could I possibly be in? Will it be cold? Glacier couldn't have been more correct. When the shell of her egg broke, a gush of frigid air rushed in at her. She pulled away, wishing she hadn't even tried to get out in the first place. Then she smelled something. Something intruiging. Something....edible. Her curiosity overcame her lust for warmth and started chipping away at the shell. Finally, she was out. Her vision was impared and she was cold, but her sense of smell overcame all of her weaker senses. She saw something light, and smelled something familiar. Who can that be? My dada? ((penguin chicks are hatched with the male, correct?)) she waddled over, but fell half way. she slid on her belly instead, and it was much more fun. She ran into something large and warm. She looked up, her impared vision making what she saw blurry and distorted. what is that? It smells like me, and it is warm like my compartment.....maybe it's like me? She looked up and tried to make sense of what she saw. Finally, she said, "Who are you? Do you have food? What's you're name?"

Driftee looked at the little fish beside her. It was flopping all around and it looked like it wanted to die quickly. Driftee poked her beak on it, but it got stuck and was lodged on the tip of her beak. She shook her head trying to get it off. It finally flew off, but it soared past her and right into the back of a small chick that looked like her. "Hey!" Driftee called at her. she slipped and slid on her belly towards the chick. She found her fish that was a little misshapen from her back and smacking the little chick in the head. "Uhh.. sorry." Driftee said. "Fish?" she nudged her fish towards her and it landed in front of the confused chick. Driftee looked at her and cocked her head sideways. "Whats your name? Mine is Driftee, but you can call me Drifty. Either is fine!" Driftee smiled at the chick. She looked up to the mass of fur that was beside her. "Uhh... Hi?" Driftee said to it. But then she looked up. Another one of me! "Oh! Hi! Whats your name?" Driftee lokked back in forth from the small chick and the big mass of fur. Then she smiled and waited for an answer from both.

((Actually, you can't eat a whole fish yet. Fleur eats them and barfs in your mouth. It's a penguin thing. Yummy! ;D)) |

((XD Buahaha! Or "regurgitate" if that's what you like better! Haven't you ever seen Happy Feet or March of the Penguins? The Parents catch & eat the fish, they go to their baby, and barf in their beaks so they are well-fed. Do you want your chicks to choke, or pretend they can eat a whole fish by themselves? ;D))

((its ok, we'll attempt to eat it then an adult penguin can regurgitate some)) Glacier's stomach rumbled at the sight of the newcomer's fish. "Hi...."she said skeptically. "Can I have some fish?"
